Things never seem to go according to plan whenever we make big plans ahead of time. That’s just not our family. Our family shifts and changes their mind about twice as much as others do. Our anniversary weekend went nothing as I had originally planned. Zero. Every prior plan was thrown out the window when D was called out the night before for an emergency service at work. We decided then to take off to the Keys. Well the morning of we stayed in bed a bit too long and figured it was too late to drive four hours to get there. Goodbye keys. So how did we celebrate? We spent the day with our kids and the night to ourselves. My mom deserves a golden medal for baby-sitting so much.
I had originally asked you all on Instagram for dinner recommendations and received great feedback, thank you all! We tried something new for brunch on Saturday, La Fresa Francesa in Hialeah. Then we took off to the park to wear the kids out so that my mom would have it easy 🙂 For our anniversary dinner we decided not to experiment with somewhere new since we had already had a miss that same day. We LOVE going to Fratelli Milano Downtown Miami. It’s my favorite Italian restaurant here in the city and I always leave there with a happy heart. My favorite dish if you happen to stop in one day is the farfalle alla checca. The handmade pasta is delicious and when paired with such simple ingredients as fresh tomatoes, mozzarella and basil you honestly cannot go wrong. (vegetarian option too, no meat!) D had the lasagna, as always, and we shared a flan. Meraviglioso! It was the perfect ending to such a special day.
This will be the only #twintuesday post in the next two weeks ( I already took back that statement, see post here 🙂 ) since I will be swamped with work these upcoming days here in Miami and soon following in Louisiana. I’m really looking forward to the upcoming shoots we have planned and for Maylin & Yadin’s wedding this Saturday!
