Sometimes while shooting a couple I will get that feeling of ‘I wish these guys were part of our friends circle’. The following groom would probably fit right in with my husband’s friends since he’s such a Star Wars fan (scroll down to see their wedding cake topper). He would partake in my husband’s lengthy Star Wars conversations that include and are not limited to speculation as to what the next movie is going to be about. The bride.. oblivious to anything Star Wars before becoming his lady ( just like me guys… D had to explain everything after our numerous marathon watching dates). In the future I can already see us having dinner and ignoring our husbands together. Yeni and Javier, I’m not kidding, we really need to get together!
Lester and I had the greatest time photographing Yeni and Javier’s special day. From the very start until the end of the party we had that familiar feeling of this being one of the sweetest weddings we have been part of. Yeni’s family truly made us feel like one of theirs and not a minute went by during that whole day that we didn’t feel privileged to of been chosen to celebrate with them. Their infectious joy and happy nature is by far the easiest of days we have ever had. A couple of firsts for us: everything ran on time or EARLY (a big surprise for a hispanic wedding), two hours set aside for outdoor portraits, wedding day bridal portraits “in the rain” and all the while waiting it out like it was completely okay, sitting at the bridal party table eating dinner with them during the reception… it was like shooting our sister or brother’s wedding guys. We hope the love we poured into documenting this wedding is reflected in the images below. Yeni & Javier’s best day ever.
The bridal team was getting ready in one of the fabulous suites of the Hyatt Regency in Coral Gables, a photographer’s dream hotel to shoot start of the day…
After the ceremony we took a long break to have a bridal session during their wedding day. Even when the rain surprised us spontaneously (with no umbrellas in sight) we made the very best of our time together and captured my favorite images of the day.
Yeni’s mom is quite a singer and surprised her with a song she composed for her…
Special thanks to the vendors that made this wedding beautiful
