Awaiting baby Amy

Motherhood is a time where we women evolve into another version of ourselves. Something clicks the moment we see those two lines on a stick and life as we knew it before forever changes. Whether we are the active let’s go for a walk at the park mom, or the million of pictures scattered around the floor hurry up the kids are napping let me scrapbook mom, the mom that calls in to the babysitter from work on the hour to make sure everything is okay, or the would you look at that, it’s bedtime kids, time for mommy and daddy time mom… you are no longer just a girl, a woman or a wife. You have a little person that has shifted the way you used to do things before. Some of us gladly give in to the change while others, like myself, have a hard time finding my brain at the end of the day. But we will all agree, our babies are worth it. The craziness, the tiredness, the endless sharing of everything because you can no longer eat a candy bar alone while they are awake without feeling some ounce of guilt as those little eyes watch you… it’s all worth it. So much so that we keep making more babies. Like this sweet couple here, welcoming baby number two into the family. Eneydis will soon have a princess in each hand as she walks into places and soon enough Annie although she’s still so small and petite will be a big sister to Amy. Lemuel will have a house full of girls. I could only imagine what that will look like in fifteen years when they are all getting ready to go out – between hair-spray, lipstick and heels they will all be loads of fun. Last week we shot their maternity session on what seemed to be a very gloomy day, but right around picture time, the sun peeked just enough for us to make our day. Here are my favorites from our time together.

“Being an only child I always wished to have a brother or sister and always told myself if I were to ever have a child I would try to give him or her a sibling. I’m so happy that I could give my daughter Annie now a baby sister and best friend for life. Even though she doesn’t know it yet because she still too small I know she will appreciate it once she’s older and hopefully they will grow up to be the best of friends. We are so excited to meet baby Amy and she will fill our lives with more love and fun. It won’t be easy but definitely not boring! She will complete our hearts and family.” – Eneydis
