A little over a year ago I wrote the following about my cousin Jael: “I have this dream of seeing her wrapped in the arms of a man she’s absolutely crazy about. The kind of man that accepts her completely and understands her many quirks. The one she will let her guard down for and won’t be ashamed of the many things she says I embarrass her about. Days where she will be so caught up making plans with her special someone she will have to pencil me in her schedule. And she will no longer speak in “I” terms but rather “we” will become the norm. I don’t know how long it will be till she discovers this part of her life but I know that it’s coming soon.” I just had that feeling you know. The days of single Jael third wheeling every time would be over and more importantly, I wanted to see her happily glowing and in love. For my friends and followers you already know that she has since then found her prince charming since we fooled her into capturing his surprise proposal at Tree Tops Park. After that day the wedding plans officially begun and I started dreaming again about all the possible options for her engagement session. Their engagement session had to be grand. different. beautiful. and most importantly for Jael, bold.
So in true fashion of having a cousin for a photographer, she dreamt up what would be the perfect representation of them as a couple. She planned for three sessions (yes you read that right) that would capture bits and pieces of who they were. I have for you today Part I and quite possibly my new favorite images of her. For this session she wanted to recreate a romantic city date. The kind you have when your boyfriend tells you to dress nice that he’s taking you out somewhere special… Our location: Perez Art Museum Miami and the surrounding areas. We didn’t just pretend to be on a date – we actually went through it along with them and even had amazing Italian for dinner downtown. [Perks of being surrounded by family.] Without further ado, my favorites from Jael & Ludgeor’s Engagement Session (Part I).
Just as the sun was setting, we found this perfect Miami skyline spot that had me drooling over the gorgeous light and the beautiful colors.
Stay tuned for the Part II and III of their engagement portraits. We’re already planning a fourth, I’m just not sure how much of our dreaming/creating/photo-goals Ludgeor can take from us two! Just to give you all a tiny sneak peek as to what’s coming up soon…
