Downtown Miami Engagement Photography

There is something so special about a couple in love. The way the seem to glow just being together. The way the express their love for one another. You just feel happy to be around them because their warmth and joy rubs off on you. Whenever I have the privilege of shooting engagement photos for couples that are just over the moon for each other they add a bit of sparkle to my day. I leave their session feeling more in love myself. I had the most wonderful day this past weekend documenting Milen & Yosvany’s engagement portraits. I was so excited to get them in front of our cameras and I can’t wait for you all to see their pictures.

My favorite part of our day, by far, was at the very end. The clouds were not holding up for us any longer and it began to rain right as the sun was setting. Milen & Yosvany just embraced it all and viewed it as an added bonus to their already romantic session. I couldn’t of been happier to stand there in the rain photographing these two twirl and dance in the field. Our day though started by the ocean. Milen wanted to capture a Miami scene for her engagement photos and we visited several spots downtown for these. Here are some of my favorites from our session together.

Magic. That’s what it was like to meet her. No, it’s not like the funky illusion of ‘sawing someone in half’, it was literally magic. She simply could not happen. It was not even an idea… but there we were and I knew no one else in that room but her. A casual hello was enough to spark what I never thought in a million years would be the most amazing experince my soul would ever encounter. It was like that hello had awakened that tiny little blip of motion that would domino effect into something I had never known in all of the time I had stood on this earth. It was more than I could ever imagine a hello would ever mean.

The exchange of words was simple, yet for some unknown reason I felt urged to not let this feeling pass. All this after I had promised not to let myself be suckered by “another one.” I however could not explain feeling of how everything made perfect sense for the first time. This was not just a coincidence. There was so much of everything I had never felt and all of this for a forbidden stranger, in my mind. I built the courage to ask for more of her time. Once we went to that ice cream parlor I knew for sure this was not like anything I had ever known. It was like we had been a there thousand times before. We connected so marvelously. Standing right there on solid ground I was taken to the farthest place one could ever imagine. I know this sounds like total nonsense but there is nothing else that could describe the experience.

Falling fast was inevitable. We were catching up as if I had left you years ago, right there at that parlor and we were picking up where we left off. From then till now it has always been that way. The feeling is the same. I have forever been yours. Never anyone else’s, just waiting for you to come along to bring me back on our way together. Never had I felt or known true love till the day we crossed paths again. You were my friend from day one and the love of my life the moment we said hello.

Sometimes we meet people under circumstances that are inconclusive to our knowledge. We meet them in moments where individually the presence of the other is irrelevant or insignificant. Then, you meet them again.. for the first time. And everything is different.

From the moment Yosvany and I spoke it was as if we had been best friends for an eternity. I really couldn’t believe how unreal everything felt. How I just knew “this man is made for me”. I never wanted that night to end. From the get-go he made me feel safe, he was always understanding and supportive. I fell in love with the way he always had something to teach me… I look up to him so much. I fell in love with his smile, the way he looks at me, how he makes me laugh, how he has never let me down or left my side.

The day Yosvany proposed to me, he had been acting secretive which is not normal, so I knew something was up, but he really did surprise me. I was in shock. Everything was so beautiful. My family was in on it too which made me feel extremely satisfied because he knows how happy it makes me having both our families together enjoying special moments with us. Needless to say, I couldn’t stop smiling all night long. Every day, we learn from each other. For me, I’ve had to learn to be more patient and a lot less hard-headed. The patience I lack at times, he has, so it all works out. He makes everything so enjoyable and so much easier. He always has a solution. From either fixing a personal problem or literally fixing my washing machine or my car or anything in this world because he really is the most handy-man I’ve ever met. I look forward to growing with him and making new memories as years go by. There is no one in this world that I would rather spend the rest of my life with. No one else I would buy a car book because of just so I can know what he is talking about when he says he’s gonna “tune” his car. Every single change that life has brought me (positive & negative) were the best things that could’ve happened. They brought me here, next to my best friend, my companion, my one true love, my hero.
