Sea of Sunflowers

They were on vacation to his parent’s cabin up in Smoky Mountains. It had been her first time visiting although they had been dating for some time. He asked her to accompany him outside to see the stars. Little did she know she would be seeing lots more than just the mountain sky. Not knowing what was going to happen next, she postponed their night walk until she was done watching her show on T.V. Can you imagine how he must of felt? [[ Come on, let’s go outside and see the stars (there’s something QUITE SPECIAL WAITING FOR YOU!). Ten more minutes babe… ]] But he patiently waited for her and when she was ready he brought her to the brand new overlooking porch where below she would see Marry Me spelled out with tea-light candles. He got on one knee and proposed.

All those pranks and awkward dancing videos had led them to that very moment where they would begin to plan the rest of their lives together. How exciting! Fast forward a couple of months, Liz reached out to me with the news of their engagement and wedding plans. We hadn’t spoken since I had the boys and definitely were due for a catch up session. I had so many questions about this boy who had swept her off her feet and I couldn’t wait to meet him. As she caught me up to the past two years of her life with Victor she was glowing. She didn’t even have to say much because that smile she had from ear to ear said everything I would want to know. I knew this was going to be a very special session.

The moment I met Victor as they picked me up from my house to start our “journey session” I saw the warm heart Liz fell in love with. They both greeted me with big smiles as I ran back into the house to grab the twins for a quick greet. And before I knew it they were both out the car helping me gather my things. This didn’t feel like work and we were well on our way to hang out while creating photo magic. We started our session at the fire station because Victor is a fireman ( post with those pictures coming soon ). And then we just hung out. THE WHOLE DAY. Until we reached this field. They had already been the cutest love-struck goofballs you could imagine during the rest of the pictures and I knew we were in for some more silliness amongst the thousands of sunflowers. They danced and ran through the field like I was just another bee collecting nectar on one of those flowers. They were one-hundred percent themselves and then some. I loved every minute of it.

Elizabeth and Victor, you two couldn’t of been sweeter and more fun to be around. Thank you for being so loving and affectionate for your engagement session. From the first pictures we took in front of that fire truck to the last in this field, I didn’t want our time together to end. I can’t wait to see your save-the-dates! Here are a few of my favorites from our session. (part 2).
