My dearest of friends, this next engagement session has quickly climbed to the charts as one of the best days I have ever had out there with couples. I so thoroughly enjoyed spending the afternoon documenting Leoana & Javier’s love story that it still makes me smile just thinking about it. There are times when your couple is just giggly, sweet and all about taking delight in just gazing into each others eyes. Their chemistry was undeniable and I hope you all can see it from just one picture as well. Leoana had wanted all along her own version of the movie, The Notebook’s water scene with a ride in a canoe and we set out to make it happen. Anytime there is water involved in my sessions, I am always one happy camper. I love (LOVE) shooting any form of boat scene and this one in particular had just the most adorable couple to make it all that better. Here are a few favorites from our time together.

“I always thought of Javi as such a mysterious and serious person. But when we started talking all that changed. He’s everything I’ve ever wanted: sweet, kind, charismatic, handsome, a goofball and weird (in a good way because I’m the same). I still can’t believe our first conversation was about Taco Bell, anime and the Marvel series and we actually bonded over that. It was his way of talking and expressing himself… I knew he was different.”

“Before I met him I felt like I was drowning and when he came into my life it was like coming up for fresh air. He’s my best friend. He’s been by my side through thick and thin, and also most important, he’s had immense patience with me because I’m so annoying and stubborn that at times I get annoyed of myself (I give props to you Babe, I honestly don’t know how you do it). He’s everything to me. He treats me wonderful, makes me feel like a queen, I feel safe when I’m with him. I don’t imagine myself with anyone else because I’ve found the one who I want to spend the rest of my life with. I fall in love with him more and more each day that goes by… I’m so happy I chose him and for as long as I live I’ll keep choosing him in a hundred years, in a hundred worlds, in any version of reality I’d find him and choose him because he’s my person.” – Leoana

“Since day one, her crazy but so loving and stunning personality has kept me together, and up until this day she keeps making me fall in love with her again and again without even trying. I feel such an immense tranquility every time I’m around her. I can be me… the quiet me, the weird me that most people don’t even know, I can show her the real me without the worries of feeling judged or criticized. She had accepted me for who I am and doesn’t ask more of me. She makes me feel as I deserve her full attention and puts me over anything else, and makes me her priority. She shows me that I’m her most priced procession. I love the fact that I inspire her to walk through life without fear, because she knows no matter what I’m there next to her to help her stand in case of a fall and I’m ready to battle to keep on with our journey. That feeling of finding someone you can be yourself with and smile at life no matter how bad and tough the situation is, is priceless.” – Javier

We ended our session together at the beach as the last bit of sunshine hid behind us. Such a lovely day… I don’t think I’ll ever stop saying that. Thanks to their wonderful moms for coming along and pitching a hand with the canoe… it’s always a production when water is involved and those ladies were quite the troopers.
