A while ago I hosted an Instagram giveaway and offered two families a session with me of their liking. Melissa and Alex were one of the couples that won the prize and because they were pregnant we scheduled their maternity session early on this month. When planning our session, Melissa mentioned to me that she wanted that sunrise/sunset glow… and that taking pictures at the Bill Baggs Cape Florida Park would fit right into her vision of what she wanted for her maternity photos. A mom with a clear vision, I loved it.
Unfortunately, right when it was time to pack the car the day of the session, I noticed it was about to rain. There went that glow, I thought. But as we all know, a little rain wasn’t going to stop me. Sam and I headed to the beach a couple of hours before we were supposed to meet them to wait it out. We have a saying in Hialeah that sadly for us it’s always raining but at the beach it never rains. Rain or shine I was determined to see if we could at least try. Melissa felt the same way, we would make it work! I love that “let’s do it!!” attitude. To our surprise the weather cleared just in time for our session as it usually does whenever you just roll with whatever mother nature sends your way. Melissa and Alex were so cheerful and happy that I actually didn’t miss the sun one bit. She was glowing enough for all of us. Let’s not forget about that cute baby bump! Ayden ( or how daddy would say, Optimus ) has the sweetest home right about now.
Melissa, I loved working with you and your husband. I’m so glad you guys were the ones picked out of the bunch. Can’t wait to see and meet baby Ayden!
