green oranges

This past week we took a drive to my family’s farm, a place they acquired in my early teen years and that became our weekend escape. I have so many memories there growing up. It’s where the cuban city girl put on some boots and went mudding. I felt like I could actually breathe out there with no one around. I’m sure everyone that lives in a farm will agree that life is less complicated out there. We had the cows and the goats to take care of, my father loved cutting the grass in the big tractor, I would go around taking pictures of everything… especially when any of our animals had babies. Life was so sweet then. I was so looking forward to having the boys grow up with a weekend escape like that, but my family recently sold the property and we are now left with just land and no house. It was the best thing for them, but it makes me so sad. Driving up there the other day brought back such sweet memories and although it was just a day trip, I loved taking the boys out there. Our farm shares fences with an orange grove. They were definitely not in season but I still brought the boys along just to show them around. Matthew learned the word ‘apple’ the other day and now every fruit is apple. He kept trying to bite the green oranges and would make the cutest face! That is all friends, just wanted to share these with you from our visit. I hope you all have a wonderful Thursday!

Special thanks to my parents for helping me wrangle the boys from running under all the trees in the crazy heat! I think it was about 2pm and we were literally dying out there. Yes, very smart of me to wear long sleeves guys. I totally didn’t think that one through!
