Beach date with baby Emma

It’s 5:10 am and I lay there wondering why it is I offer sunrise family sessions. Why on earth does anyone wake up that early? Why is it that your best sleep is usually right before you’re supposed to wake up? Grunting the whole way through I drive an hour to Ft. Lauderdale. I walk into a Starbucks at about 6:15 am looking like I still was neck deep in sheets and order breakfast, which just equals a white chocolate mocha. I’m usually up for pumpkin spice this season, but that day I was not having the cinnamon kick. I drive to the beach where I take a mini snooze until 6:50 am. I wasn’t going to walk to the sand until my family arrived but something tells me that I might as well enjoy the sunrise since I’m there. As I turn the corner of the building I had parked by I see the hints of pink shining above the horizon. It’s going to be a good one. It’s going to make that 5:10 am wake up call worth it. It’s better than a double shot of caffeine. This sunrise was giving me all the inspiration I would need that day.

I sit in the sand and decide to wake up my mother to FaceTime her since she’s a sunrise/set fanatic just like me. We sit there talking about the sun, the drive and what my plans were for the day as my cute family walks up behind me. They had a bit of a worried look because they had been running behind, (something that as a mom of two I know all to well) and well most moms are a bit antsy before a shoot. I think we get nervous about ourselves, our children, our husband’s willingness to cooperate during the session… oh wait, that’s just me. 🙂 You would think my husband would be used to it by now. But there they were and I was just staring at how adorable Emma is. I can’t express to you all in words what a happy baby she is, so I will do so with her photographs. This was our morning at the beach with Emma.

Emma was all about the camera. So photogenic and alert!

Oh Patty, you have no idea how wonderful it was to be in the company of your family. I’m so happy you found me and chose me to document pieces of Emma’s childhood that will forever remain as sweet memories. I can tell that you both are well on your way to becoming best friends.
