Emma and her loved ones

It’s with a aching heart that as mothers we celebrate the growth of our children. Part of us wants them to learn, explore and become their own person. But the biggest part of us wants them to stay close. To somehow never drift to far and always remember us. To remain our little babies forever. That is why when we look over images of those stages that have already passed we are happy that we had the opportunity to of lived those memories but are sad that they are just that now… memories.Being a family photographer means I get to experience this mixed emotion of happiness/sadness as well with my clients. Watching their babies grow into little humans is always so amazing to me. I love discovering how their personalities have changed, how they have evolved into the person we sometimes even imagined they would be. This little one in particular, I mentioned it to her mom the first day I met them… she would be one easy to photograph because she was such a happy baby. There we were sitting in Starbucks together and she was all smiles. It’s been a while since then and Emma is still the happiest baby girl.

We had a wonderful afternoon together along with Patty’s family that joined us for the session. Emma was surrounded by lots of attention and extra hands willing to shower her with love during our session so I am sure that’s where all those beautiful smiles were coming from. That and of course my crazy high pitched noises I sometimes make to try and have the little ones look at me. If you ask Patty’s sisters they will be the first to tell you I am completely nuts. 🙂 These are a few of my personal favorites of our time together.
