Vizcaya Museum Anniversary Bridal Portraits

It had been several ‘years’ since I had last photographed a session in the beautiful Vizcaya Museum and Gardens. Such a popular place amongst photographers here in Miami for all but me. (Giving you all hints and coughs here.) Needless to say when our friends, Carlos & Daimy chose this as the location for their first year anniversary bridal portraits I was beyond excited. The luscious curated gardens and vintage European architecture makes it seem as if we have taken a trip overseas to the countryside of Italy. Hanging out with them on the hottest day of the summer, through the mini rain storm and the seas of people that happened to be also visiting that day was one for the books of sessions that despite it all ‘we made it happen’.

As this first month of 2017 comes to an end (I can’t believe the weeks passed by so quickly) I am reflecting on all the plans I have set for myself this year. One of my goals is to launch my couples [engagements, bridals, weddings & anniversaries] site within the next couple of months. It’s been a long time coming ever since the launch of abigailvigoa.com and I cannot wait to see our project fully come to life. I have been slowly building a wedding portfolio reflective of the kind of work I wish to continue to offer all of my lovely couples. Many of you may recognize this family from a previous post of Vanessa and Jacob hanging out in their office, something that happens quite often since V is my website guru. I have had the opportunity to collaborate with her several times before but not like this one shoot. This was their first official family photo shoot since Jacob was born. A long awaited and anticipated event that Vanessa was very much looking forward to… not only to have photographs with Jacob but with her husband as well because they don’t have pictures together either. Or rather said, professional photos together. Disney and iPhone pictures are discounted here… although I am a firm believer in ‘capture the moment however you can whenever you can’.

Miami Wedding Anniversary Portraits

Yessenia & Jorge didn’t get to have wedding portraits done the day they tied the knot. So much emotion and excitement happens that one day you marry your best friend and the best way to remember it is through photographs. But in the case that day has passed, just like it did for them, you could always wear your wedding dress again and have a wedding portrait session. Maybe that’s not the proper term, perhaps it’s called bridal portraits, but you all get the picture. I’m a firm believer that us girls should get to wear our pretty wedding dress whenever we like! Why should it be a one time thing? Isn’t your wedding dress the one you picked out that made you feel the prettiest?

First Year Celebration

I have a thing for love stories. The ones that are complicated and difficult to understand. The kind that no one thinks those two people will ever make it work. The kind that love is so strong you don’t know whether to laugh or cry at times. Every couple has a story to tell and my favorite part of it all is not how they met or how he proposed, even though I feel that’s what’s most often shared. I like the meat. Don’t just sugar coat the highlights and tell me it’s true love. These kind of books or stories, I spend all night reading. And when no ones watching, daydreaming… because I myself have experienced this kind of love.
