Having the privilege of working with a mom as she experiences all the milestones of her motherhood journey makes me so so happy. So overjoyed with a sense of knowing that this thing I do for a living is what I am meant to do. Capturing moments that later on they can enjoy and that bring them back to that particular time. To each and everyone of you that has brought me back to your family life, thank you. THANK YOU! It humbles me so much that we get to work together again. The following parents are AV veterans since the first time we worked together I was photographing the anticipation of the arrival of their daughter, Lexie. (You can see that session here.) Listening to them speak of all their preparation for the day she would arrive reminded me so much of my own journey into motherhood.
Beach Date with the Kohlers
Hi there friends! I hope you all are keeping safe as we await hurricane Irma. Whether you are staying in your homes or have evacuated to the nearby states for safety, you are all in my prayers. As for us, we have made all the necessary preparations to protect our home and our family and can’t wait for this storm to pass. Our weekend sessions were postponed and hopefully we will be able to continue with next week’s plans. Since the storm warning has kept us bunkered home, I have had time to catch up with my editing and would love to share with you my latest family beach session. This sweet mom contacted me all the way from Texas about having a session while they were on vacation here in South Florida.
Beach date with Steven
A year ago she wrote these words to me,
“... I wouldn’t change this for nothing in the world. All I want to do is kiss baby toes and snuggle all day. I’ve even gotten to the point that if he naps for too long or daddy is holding him for too long.. I start missing him. I’m thankful to have the blonde baby I’ve always wanted. I’m also lucky to have such a helpful husband. Caring for a newborn is exhausting, but he does it with so much determination and love. Maybe I don’t get as much done these days, but its these moments I hope to remember when he’s grown. My arms and heart feel full.”
Awaiting baby Jacob
When you find out your friends are expecting another baby you kinda take it as if your own family was growing. Playdates will soon change when a new little one joins the crew, everyone starts getting the baby bug once again because that newborn smell is DELICIOUS, and for a momma of two boys like me, I just can’t wait to see them handling two munchkins just like us. Baby Jacob will come along and fit right in the best friend circle the boys have with Isabella. That’s our side of the story. As for Laura, I know this pregnancy means everything to her. She’s already experienced it one time before so she knows what to expect. Less nerves and more excitement.
Anthony turns ONE!
Yesterday I experienced for the first time since launching this site technical issues with the server being down. It was the longest I have sit in front of a computer clicking the refresh button hoping something would come up. Not even when I was trying to buy Adele tickets that morning they went on sale. Goodness! Hopefully I will not be encountering those kind of issues again in the near future. For those of you that landed on that white page of doom and are still visiting today, thank you! Thank you for coming back and keeping up with us. I’ve got for you today a family session I shot a couple weeks back at the lovely Matheson Hammock Park in Coral Gables.
