The joy I feel when photographing them translates through my lens into my heart like no other. As always Sam steels the show. There wasn’t a time that his eyes weren’t fixed on my camera. When it comes to shy kids and fear of being photographed, Sam has completely overcome his like a pro. Partly because his momma is another photography lover and I’m sure he’s seen a lens in front of his cute little face ever since the day he was born. And Luke, well I can voucher for that since I was the one taking his picture in the delivery room. The baby with buns of steel. (I always remember this when taking pictures of other babies. Haha.

Catching up on my blogging is no easy task with two soon-to-be toddlers crawling around the house non-stop! And to top it off, I broke my arm about 2 months ago and had to stop working/typing altogether. So here I am. Cast off. Ready to make up for lost time. I shot my first session after the accident this past weekend and felt great. Definitely looking forward to opening up my schedule once again and start planning what new photo shoots we will do in the upcoming months. The weather is taking such a wonderful turn for outdoor shoots, I had the dreamiest of lights ever during that engagement shoot I recently photographed. It had me swooning over my couple and their love like oohhh and ahhh you’re going to love these pictures!!!

“Happiness isn’t happiness without a violin playing goat.” You may be wondering what this goat business has to do at all with this post. It happens to be one of my favorite quotes from the movie, Notting Hill. Every time I think of the word happiness it comes to mind. What is happiness? The dictionary defines it as feeling or showing pleasure or contentment. Obviously it can mean different things to everyone… but sometimes what makes you happy today doesn’t mean it will continue to do so forever. When I started to shoot this session there was one thing that was completely indisputable. This bundle of joy has perfectly fulfilled the ‘forever in happiness charm’

Some newborn sessions are too sweet to forget. Too warm to let go of. The kind makes you forget you’re not family. That’s what happened here. I quickly incorporated myself into the daily routine of mommy cuddles and visits with family members that all gathered on this special day. Newborn sessions are so meaningful when they take place at home, where you will later on have all of those early memories of being a mom. You’ll be able to even recall the smallest details like that rug that you spent days looking for store after store a couple months ago when he wasn’t here searching for. Or maybe its a blanket that your mom knitted for you when you were a baby and it now has a special place in the nursery.
