8 reasons why you should have a birth photographer

documenting the birth of your baby

I’ve come up with 8 reasons why to hire a birth photographer that ring true to every family.

  1. Document the birth of your child. I think this is the most obvious one. Just as you would hire a wedding photographer to capture the birth of your marriage 😉 the same applies to your baby. This baby will only be born once. And don’t bother telling him/her their sibling’s birth story, it’s not the same.
  2. Free your birth team to focus on you and the baby. Your husband, your mom, a friend or a doula are all there to support you and partake in this special day. That’s their job. Taking pictures is a big responsibility,

Don’t ever give up

Good morning friends! I have been thinking for the past week on how I can incorporate my family life, passion for photography and client previews all onto this blog of mine in a seamless and non-chaotic way. But, the truth is that if I were to even begin to give you a glimpse of what it is like for us at home you would think, that sounds pretty chaotic to me… So, what the heck. This is going to be our home to share what it’s like for us on a daily from the waking up to two toddlers banging on their bedroom wall to what it’s been like for me to pursue this career.

How to Prepare for an Amazing family session

10 tips for stress-free family portraits

I looked at family sessions with a whole new perspective the moment I became a mom. It’s a lot harder than I envisioned from the other side of the lens. Why were moms stressing so much the day of family pictures instead of happily focusing on each other? It’s because family photo sessions can be quite challenging to be honest. I remember having all these perfect ideas of how our newborn session would be once the twins came home from the hospital and quickly changing my mind the day of our session. Picture this: The boys had given us a “hell of a night” and my husband was just not up for being all sweet and loving. He wanted to sleep and I was two blinks away from passing out myself.
