hello Old Marco

As a child my family used to vacation in Marco Island every summer. Every single summer guys. You didn’t even have to ask where we would be come August. It had been a while since I had visited and on a random Wednesday D and I decided to escape. Watching the boys play in the sand for the first time this summer refueled my tired soul. We’re aching to take a week long vacation but our busy schedules lately have left little room for spontaneous escapes. Aren’t those the best? Just taking off. I feel that when you plan a vacation too much you forget to enjoy yourself because there’s so much you want to do. Sometimes all it takes is looking at each other and quickly packing a weekend bag for the kiddos and a full tank of gas.

Fruit Stand by Two Brothers · TWIN TUESDAYS

Twins at TWO BROTHERS

On our Sunday afternoons off we love taking a drive out of Miami to homestead for some fruit picking and fresh crops to bring home to cook. Our usual place is Robert is Here, but this time we stopped somewhere new, Fruit Stand by Two Brothers. We heard they also had some mean shakes and decided to give them a try. William is our sweet tooth child and he most definitely approved. He wanted to lug the shake everywhere we walked, even the five minutes we spent having Sam shoot a mini-sesh of us next door. That’s the thing about Homestead, it’s not so far from the city and we get to be in an open field. Perfect setting for any kind of photo session.

thank you note to the love of my life

for Mr. Vigoa

Every night before I go to sleep I find myself telling my husband some kind of story about what I want to shoot next. Or what I would like to do to change any aspect of my business. It’s as if I need to unload all the ideas I have had that day before I turn off the switch and go to sleep. Every single night folks. Needless to say, at this point I’m pretty sure he’s regretting marrying a photographer. He has such little input in my creative process that at times I find myself wanting more from him. “Tell me which one you like best..” “Do you think this image is better than this one?”

Cowboys W & M

I love it when one wakes up first his first intention is to see if his brother is awake. If he isn’t he then tries to call him and alert him its time to rise and shine. They don’t like being apart for more than just a little while. Something inside of them doesn’t feel right if they aren’t together. Something inside of me doesn’t feel right if I don’t have them both. That’s the thing about being a first time twin momma… I have never had just one child. I was blessed as a mother with double the dose from day one. I only know what it is like to love two babies at the same time. There are days I wonder what our life would be like if we would of had them years apart.

As a young girl my parents looked forward every year to those three weeks the youth fair was in town. It’s a place that holds lots of my childhood memories. The smell of the roasted corn and turkey legs, the addictive cotton candy that seems to disappear the moment you buy the bag, the rides that give you that tingly rush and the lights… I always loved the lights. One of my fondest memories is of a trip to we took to the youth fair with my parents and my mother’s parents who are no longer with us. My grandmother Georgina used to love the fair. That one visit I recall being about six or seven and being the only kid in the bunch.
