Visiting Fontainebleau State Park

fontainebleau state park family session

We’re back!! First off I want to apologize for the delayed responses you will be receiving to your messages and calls. As I mentioned before we were out of the office all last week as we had a travel birth session in the works. Everything went just as planned, but more on that tomorrow and later on this week. We decided to make a road trip out it since it had been a while that D, the kids and I had taken any vacation for ourselves. Friends, I am so happy we did. Sure we could of boarded a plane and gotten there two hours later, but this little trip was so special. On the way there I was the designated driver since D had Lasik surgery the week before and was still recovering.

Don’t Wait

Ever since the boys were born I have been mentioning to my husband how it is that we personally need to hire a lifestyle photographer to come document our family life. You might think that as a photographer myself I have plenty of pictures of my own kids and maybe more than you would ever dream of. Although that may be all sadly true, we don’t have very many of us all together. At home. In our everyday mess and chaos. When the kids are being the rascals they are. I have literally put this off for two years now (which is just as old as they are). A week and a half ago on a Friday afternoon,

a new year

Just like that we’re two days down of new year. I had told myself I would participate in some form of a 365 project this time around.. and I totally missed my opportunity now! I can’t believe how quickly time escapes us all when we’re busy having fun or just busy living life. Something about having new year resolutions never quite settles well with me because it’s almost as if I am setting a rule that I am so ready to break so why bother. But for the past month or so I have been working up this post in my subconscious of all the things I want to try and make the most of during 2017.

Another year gone in the blink of an eye. 2016, a year full of adventure and rapid growth. I feel as if this was the year they stopped being “babies” and moved along to being the official ‘troubles’. It was oh so easy for them to leave my open arms and dart in every direction away from me. Little by little they want more and more freedom. Freedom to explore, to try things for themselves and to just be. It’s a tough transition I tell you to have every second of your day planned around what the twins need to now letting them play for hours on their own together. This was the year I knew I would be able to come back to work and start up what I put on hold because of them…

Twin Catch-Up

I’m the mom at the playground trying to explain to the boys that you can’t just randomly come up to other kids and touch or hug them. The boys are so used to being with just each other that when they see other children they want to eat them up. I don’t know why lately I’ve had that feeling of wanting to keep them to myself. We’ve kept our outings to a minimal and whenever it is I am not working, I just want to veggie out in their room and watch them play. They are growing into independent little men with big opinions and mighty tempers. As much as I am extremely grateful and happy to be working every weekend,
