outdoor exploring

Whenever I plan to leave the house the first thing I think about is, I wonder what mom is doing? My mom is usually the first call in the morning and the last person I see other than D and the kids every day. What would our life be without her? I can’t even begin to imagine how miserable I would be if I didn’t live close by or have her in my life. Sometimes while we’re grocery shopping or on one of our many weekly Target runs someone will stop us to see the twins and they will mention to me how good it is to have my mother around for help. They have no idea. Mom not only is my main baby-sitter whenever I have to work,

Hurricane Matthew

This is Matthew. He is more of a threat to our home than the storm that just passed on by. Thankfully, we were left without a scratch. Although I can’t say the same for many in other towns/countries, my heart goes out to all those families that are now suffering loss because of the hurricane. But for us, it just meant time together spent at home with loads of food I bought to keep us entertained. The boys are obsessed with anything that has to do with water, so given that the rain was gone I let them have at it in our yard. It’s amazing to compare photographs with the same clothes months apart… really shows you how much the kids have grown.

Real vs. Perfect

Last week on Monday night I sat in front of my computer for the longest time trying to figure out what I would blog about for #twintuesday. I ended up digging through our files and finding our vacation pictures from last year in Tennessee and actually loved the fact I had time to edit them. (They had been un-touched before then and most of the images are still there waiting to be used somehow.) That’s all because the more time I spend working with my clients, the less time I have for personal projects or whipping out the camera to capture the kids. Something about that makes me so sad. The boy’s first year I completed a 365 project almost to perfection.

Tennessee Twin Throwback

Fall by far is my favorite season all year. But as a Miami girl, we know that for us it just means a less hot version of summer. Last year right about this time, we took a mini trip to Gatlinburg, TN to witness the change of the leaves during peak season. We had done this the year before and were so excited to bring the boys along. We rented a cabin using Homeway.com and took off on our first official road trip adventure with the boys. They weren’t too keen on being stuck in their car seats for that long which made us all the more anxious to arrive. But once we were getting there, I’d say after we drove past Florida,

Afternoon Sweets

Before you scroll down, this isn’t a messy ice-cream post like the one we shot prior at Dylan’s Candy Bar. I would of let the boys get dripping dirty in ice cream for sure, but they acted a bit more mature this time. Comes just to prove how quickly they are growing. On Friday my mother, the kids and I went out scouting for new shoot locations. The heat that day was absolutely killer, so we quickly took refuge at this colorful shop that seemed so inviting. I literally said as I was walking in, “oooh how pretty”. The boys went nuts when they spotted the toy train they have right by the coolers. Matthew in particular couldn’t scream car loud enough.
