Tree Tops Park Maternity Session

Awaiting Baby Allison

Earlier this week I was so excited to post a bit of a preview of this lovely maternity session that I recently shot of my dear friend Yeily and her family. We decided to shoot their maternity-family photos in the same park where we once did when she was expecting Olivia. It’s been many moons since then and being a parent is no surprise for them anymore. As much as I love photographing newly expecting parents because of their excitement, their curiosity as to what it will be like once they have their baby earth-side, there is something so warm about photographing moms that are expecting another baby. Something about living it a second time around makes you value and appreciate things that you didn’t so the first time around.

Girl Talk · Yeily's Mommy & Me Preview

this one is for you mommas

The aches and pain of your growing belly are worth it. The stretch marks that have now made their home around your waist and thighs are worth it. That all-day every day nausea is worth it. Sitting in a doctor’s office waiting room for over an hour every month is worth it. Not being able to share a margarita with your girlfriends is worth it. Having moments where you can’t seem to recognize who you are anymore because of the hormones is worth it. Fighting with your husband for no and every apparent reason is worth it. That pain that harbors in your sternum and doesn’t let you fully breathe is worth it. Waking up ten times in the middle of the night to go pee is worth it.

Crandon Beach Park Maternity Session

Awaiting Baby Noah

We could of not picked a more perfect morning for our session together… Leonor’s maternity session was such a dream! I kept saying it over and over during our time together, ‘What a beautiful morning!’ The arrival of baby Noah will for sure bring so much joy to these first time parents. Hanging out with them and listening to their baby excitement is always my favorite part of maternity sessions.

“I remember the day I found out I was pregnant, it was definitely unexpected to say the least.. then about a week and a half later, we walked into that doctor’s office and about 30 seconds later we hear this very strong, very fast 173 bpm heartbeat… and at that moment was when our hearts just melted..

Matheson Hammock Park Maternity Photography

Awaiting Baby Lucas

It was a humid rainy morning as I headed to Matheson Hammock Park for this maternity session. I had just photographed at wedding the day before and waking up at 5:30 am was really, really tough. But once again, Starbucks saved the day. I drove knowing it was about to rain but hoping it would blow over soon. It rained during the session and we hid. About five minutes later we had the sun… beautiful golden sun.

Susy is expecting her first baby this month, Lucas. Photographing her was a photographer’s dream. She worked the camera from every angle so effortlessly. The one thing that was so effortless was my Spanish. You would think that since I was raised in a Spanish-speaking household I would know at least the posing lingo well.

AMELIA EARHART PARK MATERNITY SESSION

Awaiting Baby Lexie

During our four years of marriage, Armando has quickly mastered the element of surprise for every “monthiversary” or anniversary. From a 4 AM wake-up call for a hot air balloon ride to rose-petals arranged with an “I Love You” message, he has always thought of creative ways to celebrate our love and leave me with a deep sense of wonder as to what great adventure will come next. However, on Friday afternoon of April 15th, 2016, I was the one with a surprise to reveal.  After a quick trip to CVS Pharmacy, a subtle light blue line on a stick confirmed that I was expecting. I would love to say that our initial reactions were of utter joy and delight,
