Fall Family Mini-Sessions

This past weekend I met one of the cutest little gals I have had the pleasure of photographing in a while. Some kids have a spark about them that isn’t taught or posed… a fire that lives within them and they can’t help but carry themselves with such sass and spirit. Meet Imani. Imani gave me a hug 2 minutes after meeting me for the first time and not because I asked for one. She also sat on my lap and I told her about my babies back at home. Within just a couple of frames photographing her I knew I was in for a treat. I love children with big personalities. They make our session so much more interesting.

Mini-Sessions at the Park

During our last session together, Emma and her sweet parents were a dream to photograph. I was so excited to have them in front of my lens one more time so soon for a session this past weekend. Our mini-session together was the perfect addition to commemorate this happy baby stage Emma is in. If only babies would remain this way a bit longer for us moms to enjoy. That first time we met at Starbucks I knew I would have a blast working with Emma and it was true then, the first time we shot and just this weekend. Such a happy giggly baby. Beach date with baby Emma

It’s 5:10 am and I lay there wondering why it is I offer sunrise family sessions. Why on earth does anyone wake up that early? Why is it that your best sleep is usually right before you’re supposed to wake up? Grunting the whole way through I drive an hour to Ft. Lauderdale. I walk into a Starbucks at about 6:15 am looking like I still was neck deep in sheets and order breakfast, which just equals a white chocolate mocha. I’m usually up for pumpkin spice this season, but that day I was not having the cinnamon kick. I drive to the beach where I take a mini snooze until 6:50 am. I wasn’t going to walk to the sand until my family arrived but something tells me that I might as well enjoy the sunrise since I’m there.

Sophia the First

There are little girls that have just got the “it” factor. Some of them because of their golden hair, others because of their adorable dimples, and then there are those with the twinkle in their eye. The little girls that are super sassy since day one. I have only spent just a few hours with Sophia but that sparkle and sass she has going on had me heart eyes the whole session through. So so sweet. Her parents, Yvette and Mark couldn’t be a better example of what it is like to be “involved” during the session. They were tickling her, making silly faces and just about anything that would loosen her up our early morning together. I love how Mark despite breaking a sweat because it happen to be one of those desert mornings,

By the lake with Bella

The thing about children is that they hold the power to affect our everything. They become the moon and our stars and the world is not complete without them once they are part of our lives. I look at these photographs of my friends Laura & Alfred with their precious daughter, Bella and I am convinced even more of what I just said. Laura happiness around Bella is so contagious. I can feel the love she feels just by looking at her be with Bella. Bella cracks her up like no joke Alfred will ever come up with. She smiles like she is sitting on the beach soaking all that sunshine. Alfred is also under Bella’s spell. Together they will forever fill Bella’s life with all the love she will ever need and more.
